The stage descends and ascends the Grand Staircase of the Cultural Center in this “Butoh Opera”. Audience is invited to get close to a small spectacle of sound, movement, and light, as a scene is performed and documented for the upcoming film series, “Formidable Dreams” by Sara Zalek and Eugene Sun Park. Eugene Sun Park is Executive Producer of FULL SPECTRUM FEATURES NFP, a Chicago-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization committed to increasing diversity in the media arts by producing, exhibiting, and supporting the work of women, LGBTQ, and minority filmmakers. Zalek is currently sponsored by DCASE and Chicago Dancemakers Forum (CDF), is a 2015 CDF Lab Artist, and in residence in the Dance Studio at the Chicago Cultural Center.

Performers and collaborators include: Hanna Brock, Elaine Lemieux, Sara Zalek, Eugene Sun Park, Brian Zahm, Gustavo Martin, Sara Goodman, Joe Lim, Gwyneth Anderson, Colleen O’Sullivan, Here Vernon.
