EVENING SHOWCASE: Lake FX Kick-off Jazz Showcase
Featuring Next Generation, The Fox & The Hounds and Lili K. with visual projections by Liviu Pasare of Stoptime Live Productions

A trolley will leave the Harris Theater for Music and Dance following the 5:30pm LAKE FX Keynote Address. Produced by CIMMfest and The Recording Academy® Chicago Chapter.

Wired Fridays featuring DJ Sundance
Wired Fridays presents electronic dance music and local world-famous DJs in a mid-day dance party setting.

EVENING SHOWCASE: Revenge of the Mekons
A screening of the feature documentary about Punk’s reigning contrarians with director Joe Angio, band member Jon Langford and singer Sally Timms. Produced by CIMMfest.

EVENING SHOWCASE: Buster Keaton Goes to Bollywood
Buster Keaton’s Seven Chances gets a trip to Bollywood with Saraswathi Ranganathan and Dominic Johnson of New Millennium Orchestra. Produced by CIMMfest.

EVENING SHOWCASE: Synergies
A large-scale video installation by Edyta Stepien and Chuck Przybyl wraps the entirety of Chicago Art Dept east gallery while experimental short films by local artists run in the west gallery. Produced by CIMMfest.

EVENING SHOWCASE: Can’t Be Satisfied
A screening of the documentary following Muddy Water’s rise from Mississippi farmhand to Blues legend, with filmmaker Robert Burns. Produced by CIMMfest.

EVENING SHOWCASE: Listen Local Gospel & Blues Music
Featuring Tone Ross, Reggie Royal & Judah, Ryan Booker, Dave Herrero and Davy Knowles

Young Chicago Authors Showcase
A performance by members of Young Chicago Authors (YCA), an organization cultivating artistic voice, developing critical thinkers and empowering youth to be civically engaged through programs like Louder Than a Bomb, the largest youth poetry festival in the world.

6:30pm, Chicago Cultural Center, Dance Studio
SS2: Post-Butoh Festival Showcase
Eight contemporary Butoh artists from around Chicago, the country and the world use this post-war Japanese art form as a jumping off point for innovation, revealing the mystery of the live moment through contemporary dance. Performers include Vangeline Theater, Sara Zalek, Darrell Jones and Alessandro Pintus.

7pm, National Museum of Mexican Art, 1852 W. 19th St.
EVENING SHOWCASE: Sones de México performs ¡Que Viva México!
Mexican folk sextet, Sones de México creates and performs a unique original score for the 1930s film ¡Que Viva México! produced by Upton Sinclair. Produced by CIMMfest.

EVENING SHOWCASE: Listen Local Urban Music
Featuring O’My’s, Netherfriends, Martin $ky and Garrett David. Produced by The Recording Academy® Chicago Chapter.

EVENING SHOWCASE: Almost There
Kartemquin Films-produced documentary Almost There is a coming-of-(old)-age story about 83-year-old Peter Anton, an “outsider” artist living in isolated and crippling conditions, with filmmakers Aaron Wickenden and Dan Rybicky. Produced by CIMMfest.

3pm, Chicago Cultural Center, Preston Bradley Hall
Cedille Records Celebrates 25 Years of Recording Chicago’s Classical Musicians
Cedille Records presents a concert in honor of its 25th anniversary showcasing four performances – the Avalon String Quartet, Gaudete Brass, Fifth House Ensemble and INTERSECTION: Jazz Meets Classical Song featuring Patrice Michaels – that represent Chicago’s vibrant contemporary classical music community.
